After School Sports are operated through the Friars Club. Friars Club, Inc. is a private, non-profit social service agency with 146+ years of service to the community.
In 1860 the Franciscan Friars began the St. Anthony Sodality for Young Men in response to the needs of immigrant boys in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine who had little to occupy their time. During the past 146 years this mission has evolved through several name changes and expansion of services to become today's Friars Club. To help meet the needs of today's disadvantaged young people in Cincinnati's challenged neighborhoods, we look to our roots. We recommit ourselves to what we do best--bringing the inherent values and natural appeal of organized sports to help at-risk boys and girls build a promising future.
Our Mission: The Friars Club, embracing Franciscan values, bridges the social resource gap faced by at-risk girls and boys through youth sports, educational and enrichment programs to help them develop personal goals and successful lives. |
