Destination Imagination
  • This is a community-based, non-profit, volunteer-driven educational organization that young people from Kindergarten through University-Level learn the critical and creative thinking skills needed for sucess in the 21st Century.  Destination Imagination offers participants a real-world experience in creativity, teamwork and problem solving.  Everyone on can benefit from participation in this program.
  • Takes place after school every Tuesday from 2:30 to 3:30pm.  Mr. Mike Beumer is the moderator for this selected group of students.  This program develops and challenges personal and academic skills through creative thinking exercises and team building activities.  The Destination Imagination Program has been implemented in schools across our nation and has been proven to be an excellent opportunity for students to achieve academic success.
Leadership Scholars
  • The Leadership Scholars Program empowers Cincinnati inner-city youth to be agents of change in both their schools and communitites by creating and developing their leadership abilities.
  • The mission of the Leadership Scholars Program is to develop leadership skills for inner-city elementary students (scholars) and high school students (leaders) who mentor them.
  • Our vision is to produce exemplary young leaders of character who will serve their schools and communitites as leaders and role models, positively impacting both their educational and socio-economic environments.
  • The Leadership Scholas Program will proved the participating students with a support network of community-oriented individuals who will critically analyze and help imporve their communities.  This year, there are 57 high school seniors, 48 high school junior leaders, 33 eighth grade schools, and 34 seventh grade scholars participating in the program.  The major components of the program include leadership development, mentorship, field trips, parental involvement, and a summer program.
  • Our eighth grade Leadership Scholars are Brianna Virge, Nakia Woodard, and Jawaun McBride.  They meet after school on Tuesdays.
  • Our seventh grade Leadership Scholars are Maurier Singleton, Kevin Pickett, Shelton Fuller, and Si-Asia Martin.  They meet after school on Thursdays.
